Shopping Day

Today, several friends and I went to shop, because we planed to move out of the dormitory, and we needed to buy some fitments for our new home. We went to the IKEA because there we can buy fitments cheaper than other shops, like beds, tables and cabinets. IKEA is far away from our school, so we left early from school, but it still late when we arrived there. We had no choice but to have lunch and then go shopping. That was a horrible experience; I never thought shopping was so tired like this time, maybe the reason was that we have to buy so many things or the these things are showed and different places, we spent 4 hours in the shop, and finally found all fitments that we needed to buy. These things were so heavy, and we had to pay for the shop staffs and let them help us to send our fitments to our new house. There had a suddenness when we made the payment, one of salesmen made a mistake, he forgot to let us pay for a table, we found that before we leave. Vincent thought we shouldn’t leave without pay, and the table was his, so he just went back and pay it. The salesman said he was so kind and thanked him.

A Movie

I have watched several movies which were acted the leading role by Hugh Grant; About a Boy was one of them. It was a story about a twelve-year-old boy Marcus and a 36-year-old man Will. Marcus lives with his mother, and he has many problems at home and at school; Will is single, he wishes to date with ladies, but doesn’t wants to bear responsibilities for it. Will join a single parents’ group because he thinks he can easily date with single mothers. He meets Marcus and his mother there, his life begins to change. Marcus always visits Will’s house because his mother can not solve his problem of school, and doesn’t know what Marcus needs. Will helps him, and at the same time, Will knows that responsibility is important in his life. This movie describes a universal problem in society. It is an interesting film and easy for me to understand, I can see how the relationship changed between Marcus and Will. I hope others can watch it if it is possible, especially some single parents, they will learn how to live happily with their children.

A Good Story

I read a story today; its name is Spring on the Menu, I wish to recommend this story to others. it was written by O. Henry. This story is short but interesting. It tells of the life of an ordinary girl, a typist, Sarah, who lived by provide typewritten menus for a restaurant. She fell in love with a farmer who named Walter. They planned to marry at the first signs of spring. Then Sarah came back to the city and waited for his message. It was the springtime, the time they planned to marry, but Sarah hadn’t received any letters from her boyfriend. She felt very sad and always cry. Several days later, Sarah’s doorbell rang. Walter came suddenly and held a menu on his hand. He could not find Sarah because she moved to a new house. When he went to a restaurant, he saw the menu. He got Sarah’s address from the waiter. Finally, they found each other.It has a surprising twist in the end. This is a happy story and full of hope for the future. I felt comfortable after I read it.

The Dormitory Issue

Both Tanner and Kostin are my neighbors, and they live in the same room in residence, but sometimes they don’t like each other. Yesterday, Kostin came to my room with his bed and said that, he couldn’t stay in his room for one more minute. I asked him why he could not stay in his own room. He told me that his roommate Tanner came back to the room with a kind of horrible smell, because he didn’t wash his clothes for a long time, and he even didn’t take a shower after he played baseball. Kostin said he stated coughing when he smelled that. He wanted me to allow him to sleep in my room on the floor for one night. But the problem was there were no enough space for him to sleep even on the floor, there were full of things that were belonged to both my roommate and I. I felt so sorry to see this poor guy was loath to go back to his own room with his bed. I hear him coughing after a few minutes since he came back. Oh, God, forgive my crime.

Plan to Move Out

I plan to move out of the dormitory after this term. During last few weeks, I tried to look for an apartment for next term. Yesterday, three of my friends who planed to rent the same apartment came with me to see the house that we were looking for. The landlord Brenda drove us to the house which is at Arbour Lake. At first we thought that the house is a little far away from our campus, but we want to decide if we rent it or not after we see the house. The landlord talked a lot of benefits about the house during our way to there. We talked about the information of the apartment, like how many rooms are there; how many people can live in there and so on, we asked about the price as well. At the end, we saw the house, most of us thought it was good and we told the landlord we would call her as soon as we finally decide. We discussed for a long time if we rent the house or not after we came back. 2 hours later, we had a result, even though the house is far away from the campus, it was not a big problem, because there has a bus station beside it. So we decided that was the house we should rent.

My Brother’s Wedding

I was so sorry about that I could not attend my brother’s wedding. My brother and my sister-in-law were having their wedding yesterday. I hoped I could go back home but I couldn’t, I just made a phone call and congratulated them last night, I gave them my best wishes and said I was sorry that I could come back. They were so kind and forgave me, they just told me that they understood, and wished I study and took care of myself. Next mouth is their honeymoon; they might go around but nobody where they are. I was so glad when I hear they married, because I knew there was 6 years since they know each other, it was a long time; my mother had asked them so many times that when they wanted to married. Now, my mom will not warried about my brother’s marriage any more, but she maybe stat thinking about when she can have a grandson. Anyway, my elder brother finally married, he will move out from our home, because he will build a new family. That means I can move into his old room now, that room is a brighter and larger that mine. Aright, back to our business, wish my brother and sister-in-law have a good time and make sure mom can see you baby soon.

Warcrafe

This afternoon, when I came back to my room, I found my neighbor Tanner was playing a video game named WARCRAFT, the game is famous I have heard that game for many times, even when I was living in China. I was interested in that game and I have played it for several times, but I was not good at video games. I asked Tanner to tell me more about that game. He explained to me who created the game, the interesting background of the game and how to play, I was surprised when I heard the grandiose background; it is almost like a wonderful novel. While he was talking, I didn’t understand some parts of what he said, so he started to show me that game on his computer, it was much easier for me to understand what he was talking about. He was not a good speaker but he was really good at that game. I borrowed the CD about the game and planed to play it later. I even learned some new words about games and some abbreviations because that game is used by English, like DPS, which means damage per second and something like that. Maybe it is a better way that let students learn English in an interesting way.

The surprise of roommate

As a predictor said, bed thing will never come single. That was the same day which Even and I stay at the airport for 4 hours; we might have hard-luck at that day, September 4th. It was about 11 PM when we arrived in school, we were all tired, and our best wish was had a good sleep. But as soon as I went to my room which I have applied before I came, someone was knocking my door. I was angry and rudely opened the door, I saw Even was outside with his baggage. I was surprised and asked him why didn’t he stay at his room, he almost cried and said his roommate was ugly and fate, the most important was his roommate was a girl; and what he had applied was a room that shared by two boys. I wanted to laugh very much at that moment but I didn’t. I just went out with Even and his roommate to talk to the administrator about the dormitory. He checked on the internet and told us that someone made a mistake, they thought Even was a girl, and he tried to find a new room for Even. In fact, although Even’s roommate didn’t have a nice-looking appearance, she had a beautiful heart; she helped Even find the administrator. At the end, Even finally had a room to spent that lovely night, wished he had a good night.

First Experience

After a long time flight, my friend Even and I finally arrived in this country, Canada. That was my first time to go to a foreign country. When we stood in this different land, everything was new and interesting for me, new people, different language, and interesting culture. After we walked abound in airport for a while, the students who are the volunteers from the University of Calgary found us, they helped us went to the place where our baggage would arrived later, and we just stayed there and wait as many other people did. After we waited for 2 hours, our baggage still didn’t arrived, so we just helped the volunteers to receive other students who would come at that time. Then 2 more hours was past, it was about 9 PM, so we decided to leave without our missing baggage, before we gone, I went into the airport and washed to go on the washroom, I suddenly saw our baggage on the floor, we finally arrived in the campus with our baggage. Even though there was something unhappy happened during our journey, it was an interesting trip as well.
